Petra Johnson was thrilled to spend two weeks in Leiria, Portugal at the Annarella Dance Academia. She starts each day with technique class from 9:30-11am, pointe class from 11-12:30. Then in the afternoon a private with Mr. Roberto Almaguer who is a guest teacher at the intensive, Pas de Deux class with Rudolfo, and pas de deux rehearsal with new partner Antonio Casalihno with 2-3 teachers. Together they have practiced Le Corsaire and Flames of Paris Pas de Deux. Both are very difficult, but they trained very hard together. Both Petra and Antonio were invited to perform in the Dance World Cup’s Gala show in Barcelona on June 30. Antonio will attend, and Petra will head to a two week intensive at Paris Opera Ballet. They are hoping to meet again in October to perform in a special event in Portugal.
Petra arrived at Paris Opera Ballet Summer Intensive after a missed flight and lost luggage. But here she can be seen (2nd girl in the back row) with the participants entering the studio for Character class. We will hear more information about her experience when parents are allowed to watch at observation day, July 14th.
