Laura Mauldin
Adult Ballet/Pointe
Laura Smith Mauldin began dancing at age 6 at California Dance Theater in Agoura Hills, California. While there, she trained with such names as Stanley Holden and Charles Maple. At 18 Laura enrolled in Moorpark College and discovered their dance program where she branched out into Modern, Jazz, Ballroom, and Tap. She earned the Aboulafia Scholarship in 2007 on her way to University of California, Irvine, where she continued with her Bachelors in dance and graduated with honors in 2009.
Since her graduation Laura has performed with several contemporary and classical ballet companies in Southern California such as California Contemporary Ballet (2009-2011), Anaheim Ballet (2011-1-2013), and Kenneth Walker Dance Project KWDP (2012-current). She also performed as a Guest Artist dancing as the Sugar Plum Fairy for Ballet Etudes of Huntington Beach (2013), and Dew Drop Fairy for Coast City Ballet, also in Huntington Beach (2014). Laura currently teaches beginning children’s classes at Pacific Dance Theater in Huntington Beach in addition to her teaching post here at PSPA.
