All the candidates came to Lausanne on Sunday to register for the week long conference. They had a first ballet class with their group and a chance to meet each other. The dancers are put into 4 groups. A Girls and A Boys ages 15 & 16 and B Girls and B Boys ages 17 & 18. Each group has between 15 and 23 students who will take class and coaching together all week.  The day ended with a little reception for parents, candidates, teachers and guests. The real work begins tomorrow.

The first two full days Monday and Tuesday all the candidates take classical ballet class divided into their own groups, with the jury watching, and contemporary class in the open class in Studio 1 where we could observe. In addition they had stage time to run their classical and contemporary variations on the raked stage. They also fit in warm-up class each day, cardio, cool down or yoga as per their schedule. Occasionally A & B girls work together, but usually they are in their own group of 15-20 dancers.

Today the dancers took contemporary class in front of the jury, and later performed their contemporary solo for them as well. Both were in Studio 2. In addition they had time on the raked stage for coaching of each of their solos. Many classes and coaching sessions are on the live stream.
